Florida’s heading into a new era under head coach Jon Sumrall and has high hopes for the 2026 season. Will this be the year they get back on the national stage? 🐊👀

The Gators parted ways with Billy Napier and hired Sumrall over from Tulane, who just won the American conference title and reached the College Football Playoff.

Sumrall hired Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, which led to several Yellow Jacket players transferring to Florida, as well as Auburn WR Eric Singleton Jr. who played at Georgia Tech in 2023 and 2024 under Faulkner.

Offense:
• Added 4-star transfer QB Aaron Philo
• Return star RB Jadan Baugh
• Added transfer RB Evan Pryo
• Return wide receivers Dallas Wilson, Vernell Brown III, and TJ Abrams
• Added 4-star transfer WR Eric Singleton Jr.
• Added transfer WR Micah Mays Jr. (Wake)
• Added transfer WR Bailey Stockton (GT)
• Added transfer TE Luke Harpring (GT)

Offensive line:
• Return LG Knijeah Harris, who started all 25 games over the past two seasons.
• Return RT Caden Jones, who started 10 games and logged 541 snaps last year.
• Added Stanford transfer guard Emeka Ugorji who started 8 games last year.
• Added GA Tech transfer center Harrison Moore, who started 8 games last year.
• Added Penn State transfer TJ Shanahan Jr., who started 10 games over the last two years.

They hired new defensive coordinator Brad White, who was DC at Kentucky for the last 7 seasons.

From 2019-2021, Jon Sumrall coached Kentucky’s inside linebackers, while Brad White coached Kentucky’s outside linebackers/was DC.

Defense:
• Return DBs Bryce Thornton, Cormani McClain, Dijon Johnson who all started games last year.
• Added Baylor transfer DB DJ Coleman, who started 11 games for Baylor last year.
• Return LBs Myles Graham and Jaden Robinson who both started every game last year, as well as Aaron Chiles who saw significant playing time.
• Return DL Kamran James, Jayden Woods, Jamari Lyons, Brendan Bett, and LJ McCray.

The Gators enter most seasons with a lot of hype, but will this fall, under a new staff, be the year that Florida meets expectations?
