Happy New Year from Greene County Economic Development! We hope the new year brings many blessings, success stories, good health, love, and moments of Joy!
Tip #21. Think beyond Saturday.
Although it’s important to utilize Small Business Saturday to boost sales and drive traffic, your thinking should go beyond this day of shopping. After the holiday season has ended, take stock of what worked and what didn’t; & apply it all year.
Tip #20. Launch a giveaway
Everyone who comes into the store and makes a purchase on Small Business Saturday could be entered to win a special giveaway prize such as a basket worth of products/services from the business, or a gift card. It shows that the store cares about them!
Happy Thanksgiving from Greene County Economic Development Corporation. May you have a blessed day celebrating with family and friends around the table.
Tip #19 Become a holiday tradition.
Combine #SmallBusinessSaturday with other festive events going on in your city. Offer a picture with Santa, ice carving demos and craft workshops, too. Working your way into family traditions ensures customers return for memories!
Tip #18. Offer a scavenger hunt.
Make Small Business Saturday and adventure. Cities offered scavenger hunts last year -- getting people to celebrate their towns and shop in the process. Give customers an incentive to explore their towns -- and discover stores like yours.
Tip #17. Hold a kickoff event.
Start the day off with a kickoff event. Invite VIP customers and even local notables to your store, offering them snacks, beverages, and a special discount to show your customers they are special and get them excited for the day. #ShopSmall
Tip #16. Make your website mobile-friendly.
According to a Kissmetrics study, 78% of mobile searches for info on local businesses results in a purchase. Ensuring that your site is mobile- friendly can increase chances of business with people who can't make it to the store Nov 30.
