We're 17!
Greenfoot 1.0 was released on this day in 2006. It's been a long time since then, and we are now older than most of our users. Still going strong and making programming fun and educational.
To the next 17 years!

Lots of fun was had today during period 3 @BayridgeSS_LDSB as the grade 10 compSci class invited other classes in to play their versions of retro video games created using the Java programming language! @GreenfootTeam#bssCompSci
Each year, we make a highlight reel of the video games created in class by the grade 11 compSci class at @BayridgeSS_LDSB.
Take five minutes, watch this, and realize the kids are doing alright. @GreenfootTeam @michaelkolling @LimestoneDSB#bssCompSci

@lordzombieboy The server is indeed down now, and has been intermittently over the last week. We are currently investigating and trying to get it fixed as soon as we can.
I hope it will be up again soon (and stay reliably up).
Sorry for the trouble!
@PGossmann Sorry, it is indeed down at the moment (since early yesterday).
It’s a problem with our server, and we’re working hard to try to get it back up.
No alternative servers, though - sorry.
@Samuelmay2335 Thanks for reporting.
It is an interplay of Java and Monterey that we haven’t quite figured out yet. We’re looking into it. If you have a full crash-log, please send to our support email. Thanks.
@thej Asteroids or Flappy Bird should both be possible in a reasonable time. You might like to look at this to get you started: https://t.co/mVLDJPtbrr
It’s our birthday!
On this day, exactly 15 years ago, was the release of Greenfoot 1.0.
We’re fifteen years old today. (Older than some of our users...)
What's happening with Greenfoot?
We are currently working on a new version, which will include a completely rewritten Java editor – smoother, faster, better!
