Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a candidate for France's 2027 presidency, reaffirmed his support for the decolonisation & independence of Kanaky-New Caledonia in accordance with international law & peoples self-determination right.
The Scottish liberation movement, Liberation Scotland, stands in solidarity with the Kanak people & supports the full decolonisation and independence of Kanaky.
The name "New Caledonia" itself carries a striking colonial history. "Caledonia" is the Latin name for Scotland, and the designation was bestowed upon Kanaky by James Cook in the eighteenth century. The naming reflected an imperial geography in which colonised lands were symbolically mapped onto one another, linking the colonisation of Kanaky to the earlier subjugation and annexation of Scotland.
A few days ago, notably through the intervention and solidarity of the Kanak people, Scotland was identified for the first time as an English colony during an official seminar of the United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) in Managua, Nicaragua. This comes after the historic report submitted by Liberation Scotland with a major Chinese NGO to the UN Secretary General and the Human Rights Council declaring Scotland an English colony.
Scotland's liberation movement has already intervened on several occasions at the United Nations in support of Kanaky-New Caledonia and the Kanak struggle for self-determination.
As an English colony itself, Scotland understands colonialism because Scotland has experienced it and is still subjugated and colonised until today by the English colonial state. As a nation seeking its own decolonisation, Scotland's natural place is alongside peoples resisting domination, dispossession, and imperial rule. An independent and decolonised Scotland will be a committed ally of anti-colonial, anti-imperial, and self-determination movements across the world.
The future belongs to decolonisation. From Kanaky to Scotland, the unfinished business of empire remains unfinished no longer.
Scotland is literally the most plundered nation on earth.
The English colonial state extracts well over 100 billion pounds yearly from Scotland through its resources, taxes, trade interception, creative industries & economic control.
That is English colonialism not partnership.
LIBERATION SCOTLAND:
NEW MEMBER APPEAL🏴💙
Dear Supporter of Scottish Independence,
It is now clear that the recent election has delivered a fractured ineffective administration at Holyrood that will spend the next 5 years unable to progress either (a) independence for Scotland (despite its ‘pro-indy’ majority) in the face of Westminster refusal, or (b) expand national domestic investment in services and infrastructure to improve living conditions for Scots (to at least parity with other western countries with which Scotland is regularly compared) without the necessary control over the revenues from Scotland’s own resources, especially energy.
The presence of ‘nationalist’ administrations in Cardiff and Belfast means that Starmer (and his Downing Street successors) will simply double-down on blocking ‘indyref2’ in response to any repeat demands by John Swinney! Westminster’s constitutional arrangements with NI, Wales and Scotland are NOT identical and there is a real danger that Westminster/Holyrood could trap Scotland within a future ‘devo-max’ settlement that undermines our historic popular sovereignty and strengthens England’s illegal grip on our nation, its territory and resources.
The only deliverable route to restoring Scotland's full historic nationhood is through engagement with the international legal mechanisms of the UN and associated international organisations. It does NOT pass through Westminster or its Holyrood administration.
Liberation Scotland’s key mission is to secure international recognition of Scotland as a Non-Self-Governing Territory (NSGT), as defined by the UN (i.e. colony), and to initiate the UN-mandated process of decolonization of the Scottish nation and sovereign people, including via the UN Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) and terminate England’s wrongful act of 320 years of colonial annexation of Scotland.
It is this important international campaign by Liberation Scotland, with support from Scots at home (including Salvo’s domestic campaign) and our extensive global diaspora, that gives Scotland an international voice where it matters and provides a clear and deliverable route, free from Westminster interference, to the restoration of Scotland to its rightful place as an independent and sovereign nation state within the international community of nations.
Details of Liberation Scotland’s UN campaign (including attendance by Liberation Scotland representatives in March at the UN Human Rights Council 61st session in Geneva) can be found on our website and in our latest member newsletter, along with details of Salvo’s domestic campaign to protect Scotland’s historic national Common Good assets, which are currently under threat of loss to our communities from sale, transfer or change of use.
Thanks to our extensive work during the last 2 years, Scotland’s case is now firmly on the agenda at the UN and our nation’s voice is being heard once again – most recently at the C-24 Regional Seminar in Nicaragua, where Liberation Scotland contributed towards four interventions on the very live issue of the advancement of decolonization.
However more work remains to be done, and with three further interventions and a side event programmed for New York and Geneva later this month and next, we ask you to please join us and support our campaign any way you can to restore Scotland’s nationhood and sovereignty and to return its alienated assets and resources to the ownership of its people.

Sovereignty is implied in an indigenous people not voted on to reverse an annexation by an Apex Sovereignty Stealer.
Be fair, those who don’t want their Scottish sovereignty can abdicate,
while the rest of the Scots can rebuild a decolonised Scotland.
#DecoloniseScotland
If you’ve no plan and no way to advance one you can always resort to the tactic of looking busy. I will not be signing up to this nonsense; it’s playing straight into the British state’s hands with its call for ‘a second referendum.’ We never had a first. If you don’t believe me look up international standards for a constitutional referendum and compare with the 2014 event, starting with ‘non binding.’ Then move into the franchise, the media bias, the threats and warnings issued by the Brits or by large businesses at the request of the U.K. govt and the breach of the purdah period with the super whopping promise of devo max days before the vote. Seeing it yet? Anyone asking for that all over again is just a turkey asking for Christmas.
They say Scotland is too poor to stand alone.
The truth is the opposite.
Scotland is too rich to be released by a colonial state built on extracting its wealth, resources, labour, territory & strategic position.
Empires do not surrender profitable colonies willingly.
Scotland has abundant water and under utilised renewable electricity, wonder who the English fake state coloniser could sell licences to take advantage of those annexed resources?
#DecoloniseScotland
Another scourge on Scotlands sovereignty land.
Land grab, mass amounts of water needed, electricity hikes & potential blackouts - this is outrageous.
Who gave you the mandate/authorisation for this?
FROM 'SABOTAGING SCOTLAND'
"Gareth, successive UK governments and their civil servants running Scotland have blocked a whole series of international port and shipping developments that would have placed Scotland firmly on the global map, doubling our trade and current ‘colonial level GDP’ too.
They include: Ardersier port, Scapa Flow container port, Hunterston container port, European Gateway Port for ferries and cruise ships at Cockenzie, building of 50+ proven design catamaran ferries under license on the Clyde, plus starting extensive multi-vessel riverbus operations on Forth, Clyde and elsewhere.
All these initiatives and more were blocked one way or another by our colonizer and their ‘little helpers’." Prof Alfred Baird
A wee lesson on how colonialist economics work for all the gullible yoons who support and defend another country who are asset-stripping us. I suspect this will go right over their brainwashed heads, but we live in hope.
Every one of my followers needs to hear & please repost this & tell your friends. The tectonic plates are shifting.

@J4m35c4mpb3ll@DragoonGuard@SSalyers2 This is how the brit identity gets hung, drawn and quartered into Wales, N Ireland, Scotland and the country that desperately needs a COR style written constitution to protect its own people from those who pretend to be a state government.

Liberation Scotland Update June 2026 #1
from C-24 in Managua, Nicaragua
"Scotland actually has three separate claims to the right of self-determination. And bear in mind, the right of self-determination is only the right to decide. It doesn't mean you're automatically independent, it means you have a right to decide your own future without being contested.
"So the first right of determination consists in the fact that multiple prime ministers, and officials of the British state, have categorically, including Keir Starmer back in 2020, have categorically said that the Scots have a right to decide to go it alone; that they have a right to independence if they want.
"In international law, because the Brits don't have a written constitution, this becomes a constitutional principle, if it has been said long enough and often enough by representatives of the state. Prime Minister speaks on behalf of the state, of course. Like Supreme Court speaks on behalf of the state, they're considered to be state organs.
"So now in international law, Scotland has been established as having that right. When David Cameron agreed to an 'opinion poll' that was called a referendum, he agreed in principle to put a mechanism in place to allow that right. He didn't follow up, he didn't allow the international standards. Nonetheless, that precedent was there. So that's one.
"Number two, the British state claims that it's founded on the Treaty and Act of Union, that's its authority. It said that most recently in its submission to a parliamentary report, published in February this year. The constitutional foundation that means its authority is the Treaty and Act of Union. Well, the Treaty Act of Union, have something called a 'condition precedent'.
"Basically means the union is conditional. What's the condition? It's a hoary old, absolutely irrelevant Act 1706 of the Presbyterian Faith, Preservation of Presbyterian Faith, which lifts the Claim of Right as part what has to be ratified along with the articles of the Union.
"Claim of Right gives the people of Scotland, unequivocally, the right to remove a government that no longer serves the interests of people. Very specific about the violations that caused the government to cease to be legitimate and stop them.
"But it very clearly shows that the sovereignty of the nation of Scotland lies with the Scots, and cannot possibly lie with Westminster. So either, and that condition is there, Claim of Right is still there and we still have that right, or there's no union. There's no British state, because precedent comes before, underpins native conditions. Without it, there's no union. With it, we have the right to leave. That's international law, that's treaty law.
"And finally, the right of self-determination for a people who have been made a dependency, that's a colony, by a larger state is absolutely entrenched. It's a fundamental principle of international law.
"Does that apply to Scotland? Absolutely. The British State has said, Scotland is not a dependency, that's a colony, because we have a partnership with the UK, it's a voluntary partnership. We've all heard that. Voluntary partnership requires an agreement. The agreement is the Treaty and Act Union.
"And hey, guess what? This underpinning authority of the British state has never been given effect. We don't have a treaty, and because we don't have a treaty, in other words, we don't have a partnership agreement, we are not a partner. We can only be a dependency. And that means that under International law, Treaty Law, Scotland has a right to decolonize.
"Not secession, not to fight for a remedy to the way the British state has treated us, a fundamental right to decolonization. And that's what we're doing in Nicaragua, because the vast majority of the international community does not know that Scotland is a dependency.
"It has no idea that the United Kingdom is a fraud. It has no idea that Scotland is not part of a unitary state. Once that has been clearly established, everything changes, the whole game changes.
"So everything hangs, basically, on the ability of British state to hood-wink the international community. And Liberation Scotland is here making sure they can't succeed any longer. And then having that formally recognized, that Scotland has this right to self-determination.
"Once that happens, that doesn't make us independent overnight. What it does do, it clears the path. No more Section 30, no more Westminster permission, no more Westminster interference in the right of Scots to decide their future. It's a way, simply a way to clear the road ahead. And after that, it's up to us." @SSalyers2@LiberationScot@broonpot@PAlanMcMahon@thomsonchris@CraigMurrayOrg@rblackqc@IndyScotParty@LiberateScot@SalvoHighlands@ScotSalvo
@BBCNews The English colonial state's defeat in the UN against Scotland, an English colony as it it now being called in the UN system, is going to be huge. The English colonial state must leave Scottish territory and end its illegal occupation and annexation. Time for justice.
Maybe now it will be understood how important it is that the Scottish Crown wasn’t replaced by a joint British one! Title to Scotland remains with the crown and there’s no legal mechanism to give Charlie boy or his government or its administration access to that title. Time to fight for our rights, funnily enough rights based on hoary old historical facts!! (I know you already know that, Ian! 🙂)
UNION STREET
An historic Glasgow tenement block and its shops, destroyed in a major fire, has been recreated in miniature
Karen Bones spent 10 weeks working on a replica of the B-listed Victorian building, including the vape shop that started the blaze.
The model - made out of recycled cardboard - depicts all the businesses affected by the blaze. It also features the building's landmark dome as well as iconic signs which once adorned its roof.
Karen said: "After seeing the devastation on the TV, I felt compelled to try and recreate it because such a big part of my childhood was walking up and down Union Street and being fascinated by the Irn-Bru sign."
Among her creations are scale replicas of venues and buildings ranging from the Barrowland Ballroom and other famous Glasgow music venues to coastal cafes, historic castles and cottages.
Working from a renovated caravan in her garden in Larbert, she not only builds the pubs and clubs she worked in for nearly 20 years but also takes commissions through her small business, Bricks & Bones.
James, there is no ‘the UN’; it’s an organisation made up of representatives from 193 states, six main committees and hundreds of sub committees. We just got back from the C24 seminar in Managua -podcast being put together now. We held the meetings we needed to hold - successfully - and our legal representative put forward proposals for adoption which will speed things up considerably. Also the changed climate meant that he could mention Scotland and others waiting for decolonisation by name without being removed for breaking the protocol. (Previously you could only mention too. the names of the territories already listed.) So the whole C24 heard that Scotland awaits decolonisation! (So much for the colonial secretariat burying our notifications!) Meanwhile we’re working behind the scenes on strategies which will directly affect both international recognition of our right to self determination and our situation right now. (Enforcing rights ignored by our political ‘champions’ until now.)
We have years of campaigning to catch up on and have been at this, working internationally, for just over a year! Think about that. And given the way we have already been faced with ‘grey zone diplomacy’ by the British state and its allies, I am sure you’ll forgive me if I only say we have powerful support from other states and do not say who that is!
A Scottish government - that is to say a proper Scottish government, not an English administration managing the extraction of Scotland's resources on England's behalf and showing no interest in upsetting the schemes of international capital wrought at the expense of Scottish land, Scottish farmers and the common good of the nation of Scotland, would stop this in its tracks.
We Scots are the sovereign in Scotland; the territory is ours to say how it should be best used for the benefit of our people. The first thing that needs to be done is to test this territorial title. We saw last week in the case brought by Craig Murray to the Supreme Court what happens when the will of the English patriarchy is challenged; Scottish justice, one of the smokescreens of annexation, is trampled underfoot.
The only place to enforce our rights as a sovereign territorial people is in the international courts. Back Liberation Scotland to do just that.
