@NFL_DovKleiman I don’t think there is anything wrong with this stuff, but what I think gets lost is CMC still spends tons of time doing more traditional S&C like squats, hinges, and presses. While I’m sure this helps CMC in someway, being a master at the basics is what sets these guys apart
@NickHoopes_ I so enjoy working with students. I’ve only had the opportunity to mentor 1 thus far as we don’t have a program nearby and not many want to travel to my rural part of Idaho…
@hjluks As a rural sports PT working with HS kids, it definitely takes QT graft pts longer to get strength back. Most of the surgeons in our area are switching to doing almost exclusively QT grafts, with a few HS. Haven’t seen a BPTB graft in years from anyone locally
@NickHoopes_@kbowpt Only time I ever use US is if a patient explicitly asks for it. The only time I see that US works is when the patient thinks it’s going to work. It’s that expectations thing again.

Does anyone know of research on LE strength asymmetry in healthy athletes? I use pull dynamometer to look at strength. Found some studies that showed 15% diff in power is normal, but wasn’t sure if it’s the same for strength. If you’re screening an athlete, what asymmetry is ok?
I’m gonna be a CI for the first time! Excited to mentor a student and learn al lot myself! What’s y’all’s best advice to make this the best experience possible for the student?
@DptScott1996 If I didn’t think the schools would pass that cost onto the students, I’d probably be fine with getting paid as a CI. The fact that students have to pay tuition at all is ridiculous in my book when the entirety of the rotation is spent off campus.
Anybody know of research on return to throwing s/p ACLR? I’ve got a softball player getting recruited and coaches want to see her arm (outfielder) when she visits. She’s L handed and had R ACLR. 3 months out 80% QI. Would like to know if safe and how to see readiness #sportsPT
@Lentini_PT@mikereinold@erikMeira@MuyVienDPT Haven’t heard back from the surgeon yet, but have reached out. She won’t be in front of coaches for another 6 weeks or so, so some time to get there if cleared. Coaches just looking to see if she can make a throw from the outfield. I wouldn’t clear to field then throw
@MuyVienDPT She’s an outfielder, so they want to see her throw from there. Obviously wouldn’t have her field, just throw. She’s working through a return to jogging program now and won’t be in front of coaches for another 6 weeksish. She tore it playing HS soccer in the fall.
@Lentini_PT The only requirement in my mind is a way to measure quad strength. I’m fortunate to have a lot toys that help along the way, but I’d be lost without my dynamometer
