Just a reminder - we’ve moved our activity over to @greenwichherit, and this account is no longer active. Go follow us there for all things Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust 😉
@carolyn_a7@eye4change@HistoricEngland ...I even gave a little heritage talk as we stood outside the beautiful old Royal Arsenal Co-operative buildings 😊 #heritage"
A little birdie tells us she rather impressed, too 😉

🌬️TOMORROW, 20th August: Our Brass on the Patio summer concert series gets a little windy, but it (hopefully) won’t be because of the weather! @RAFMusic's Wind Ensemble changes the pace with the full range of the woodwind section.
PLEASE NOTE: As announced on the @GreenwichHT website last week, our car park at Charlton House & Gardens will temporarily close from 6pm today (Wednesday 18th August) due to @Royal_Greenwich’s #RGTogether21 festival this Saturday.
Thanks for spreading the word, Mr Greenwich! 😉
P.S. Alongside audio self-tours of the House throughout the day and 45-minute guided tours (all booked up!), we'll also have afternoon tea available from 1-4pm for £15.99 a head - pre-book at https://t.co/01CEoEpiOi!
Children aged 5 to 12 will be making their very own pomanders at Charlton House Explorers - tomorrow at 10, 11:30, and 2:30! They’ll also learn about healthcare over the years right here in Greenwich.
✅ Are your kids signed up for The Perfect Cure? https://t.co/G3i21S3Fpk
🍋 What herbs, flowers, and fruit would you collect for your pomander?
🌼 In 17th century England, many would carry a pomander - a bundle of herbs, dried flowers, and fruit - to protect them from infection. Today, pomanders are used to perfume and refresh the home.
🎺 TOMORROW, 13th August: the newly formed ARC Brass septet gives one of their first ever public performances for Brass on the Patio from 1pm. They’ve got a beautiful programme of vocal works adapted to brass, including Bach!
🏛️ Children aged 5-12 can learn more about Romans in Greenwich at tomorrow’s Charlton House Explorers programmes. They’ll even make their own mosaic clay bowls!
✅ Slots are just about filled up, so make sure to book in now: https://t.co/QWVZOQkbLO
🐕 Still beloved today among families in Greenwich and across London, greyhounds and their ancestors are thought to have been among the most popular dogs in Roman times.
@GreenwichHT ☔️ We’re taking this rainy day as an opportunity to invite our Brass on the Patio attendees (today at 1pm featuring Trafalgar Brass) into our Long Gallery.
