Ferris State 6 Cone Box Tackling Drill
- The six cone box drill begins with three players in a line, with two acting as defenders and one as the ball carrier.
- Each participant must run around one of three designated cones before turning to locate the ball and engage in the play.
- Defenders must maintain proper leverage on the ball carrier to successfully execute a vice tackle.
- If a defender finds themselves stacked head-up with the ball carrier, they must immediately work to re-establish their leverage by moving to the appropriate side.
- Proper tackling technique in this drill requires approaching the ball carrier using a near-foot, near-shoulder contact method.
- Coaches can increase the difficulty by having players circle each other before the drill starts, forcing them to make snap decisions about their role as either a defender or ball carrier.

Don't get too complicated on how you teach spill overlap technique. Need a force/lever person on the outside. the playside lb needs to react and take on a 2nd puller if necessary with his inside arm to force it to the alley defender , while the other weakside ILB overlaps.

The #Raiders are trading star edge Maxx Crosby to the #Ravens for pick No. 14 and additional compensation, per me and @TomPelissero. A blockbuster.
A new home for Crosby and a true rebuild for Las Vegas.
Wolfers: This is the most interventionist government of my lifetime. It’s the least conservative government of my lifetime. When you are the richest country in the world, maybe you are not the ones who should be tearing down your existing institutions. That’s usually what countries that are lagging behind try to do. But that’s exactly what this president is doing.
This won’t show up in next quarter’s GDP. What it will show up as, a decade from now, is companies that were never founded. Entrepreneurs who couldn’t afford to go to business school. Immigrants with great ideas who stayed in their home countries instead. Whatever the next generation’s Google or OpenAI is, it may not be invented—or it may not happen on our soil.
We’ll never see that absence directly. But our kids will feel it. They’ll feel it as lost opportunities: businesses never started, jobs that never existed, technologies never developed, and ways of creating a greener, safer, more prosperous future that simply aren’t possible.
