@EmmanuelMacron Speaking French is a good thing! A very good thing. As the head of state of Canada, a bilingual country where we speak both French and English as official languages, I would have hoped that Charles would not have made such a poor joke.
@acoyne As bad as this is it should also be noted that since 2018 when the current US president ripped up the Iran nuclear agreement, Iran has raced to nearly double its stockpiles of enriched and partially enriched uranium needed to build nuclear weapons. So things are worse than ever.
@kinsellawarren The reporter said “I am going to take that as you saying you don’t have a timeline” on industrial carbon pricing. Carney responded: “I didn’t say that... You can’t just read into my answer.” A reporter may make an inference but not attribute it "as you saying" it if not said.
@globeandmail Bernard Drainville came up short in his bid to become leader of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) and Premier of Quebec. He is a former president of the Ontario Federation of Students. Maybe he would like to come back to Ontario and take over the Ontario Liberal Party. #onpoli

@jamesbezan The previous Conservative government of which Pierre Poilievre was a cabinet minister never met the 2 per cent NATO spending target. It took a Liberal government to reach it.
@TheTorontoSun@brianlilley Appeasement only leads to increased demands. Appeasement won’t work. Why rollover and give up our auto sector and dairy? They will only demand more.
@TheTorontoSun@brianlilley Appeasement doesn’t work. The U.S. administration wants us to give up our auto sector, our dairy, and accept a baseline tariff on all exports. There can be no appeasement for that. Appeasement only results in increased demands. Nope. What is require is a polite and firm “No”.
@msSharanKaur Jivani went to Washington with the blessing of his leader. He blamed job losses in the auto sector on China, not U.S. tariffs, then says Canada shouldn’t do any additional deals with China in order to appease the U.S. Quite the negotiator. Let’s hope JJ and PP are never in gov’t.
