The AG and SOS office’s wrote intentionally confusing ballot statements for each of the four initiatives on your ballot. Let me summarize the effects of each:

I-2117: vote YES to reduce your gas prices ⛽️
I-2066: vote YES to preserve natural gas 🔥
I-2124: vote YES for choice of less tax on your pay 💵
I-2109: vote YES to stop a back door income tax 🛑

VOTE YES, PAY LESS on all 4 initiatives on your ballot.

This pandering is pure economic illiteracy. Price controls create scarcity, which leads to higher prices. Also, subsidizing the demand for housing will only increase the price of housing. If you want to lower housing costs, increase the supply of housing.

Dear readers this one is a real stumper… How did WA state become dead last in the entire nation in the number of police officers per citizen?

-Whose policies caused this to happen?
-Which party has been in control for nearly 40 years pursuing just such a policy?
-Who has been the AG for the past 12 years watching this happen?
-And who is the Governor of this fine state for the past 12 years who caused this to happen?
-And are the AG and the Governor close? Do they work together and agree on the policies being implemented in this state?
-And what were both of their positions on the burning and occupation of parts of Seattle?
-Did the AG have a different opinion about how that should have been handled?
-And if so did he ever voice it to the public before he declared he was running for Governor?
-And did the AG of the past 12 years ever lend his political voice to counter the ACAB nonsense that drove officers away from this state?
-And did he ever stick up for the men and women in blue when the prevailing winds were shouting defund the police?
-And what about Fentanyl?
-Where was the AG when this scourge was practically legalized in the State? Did he make bold statements or suggest solutions to this plague?
-Come to think of it, did he fight the legalize all drugs movement ? Did he cheer it on? Or did he cowardly hide his thoughts until it was time to run for governor?

There are so many questions! Luckily this really truthful and deeply insightful ad will help clear everything up (warning the following ad is not actually a parody it was intended as a real ad for you to watch and believe without question…. Why ? Because he loves the children that’s why…..

Circa 2016, then State Rep. Graham Hunt (R) was exposed for having misrepresented his military service, including claiming he was in photos of war zones - except that wasn’t him in the picture. He stepped down from his position with pressure from the Republican Caucus, later he tried to rehabilitate his record, but got caught up in more lies. I wasn’t in office then, but I was very critical of it at the time.

Fast forward to 2022, current Rep. Clyde Shavers (D), misrepresented his military service. He claimed he served on submarines in the U.S. Navy - except he didn’t. I was extremely critical of this. I’m a Navy Submarine veteran, and I found this to be extra offensive. Being vulnerable for a moment, in my first session and first floor speech I had said “as the only submariner on this house floor”, during the course of my speech. It was 100% truthful and correct. But Democrats didn’t like it when I said that, they took it as a dig at Clyde Shavers. One day they refused to pass my bill, and told me it was because I upset Democrats by saying what I said. I ended up in JT Wilcox’s office, just to explain what had occurred. JT was always kind to me and listened, he knew it meant more to me. I explained to him that when Clyde lied it might seem like a small offense to some, and easily forgiven by others - but I recounted my experiences on submarines, the bond, brotherhood, trust, and accountability that is forged. And how it hurts when the worst happens to people you are family with. When Clyde lied about his service, then tried to wash it away like it never happened, it cheapened the experiences and sacrifices of everyone I served with. To earn submarine dolphins is one of the harder qualifications in the Navy to earn. Inevitably, Democrat leadership let it all go and my bill passed, but I’ll never forget how I was set to be punished for telling the truth, in order to defend someone who lied for “politics”.

Being consistent, I now see the news about Semi Bird, and can’t ingnore it. You can scroll my feed and find I have rarely, if ever, mentioned Semi Bird. I have great friends who support him, and those who support Dave Reichert. I was asked, even before Dave Reichert jumped into the race, to look at Semi Bird. I did, probably more than you think. I could waste your time getting people to testify to the fact that I felt Semi had misrepresented his service in some way, but without hard evidence I never said anything, I just declined to support. Some attacked me for never giving him a shot, but I did, and instead of telling unreasonably emotional people why I made a rationale decision based on my experience, I declined to discuss it. Semi has attractive qualities, he’s great at talking to people, he’s energetic, he’s staked out a lot of policy positions that I agree with. But time and again, there seems to be a disconnect with Semi and honesty. In this instance, he misrepresented his service, and in his own words committed fraud against the U.S. Army. He owned his actions in the reprimand memo he wrote himself, but today washes it all away as some political hit job. His previous actions, failing to learn from them, and perpetuating them again later in life was the only hit man on his campaign. Again, blaming those who are telling the truth, to defend someone who has lied. I wholeheartedly condemn his misrepresentation of his service, and so should you.

Look, I know I’m not convincing anyone who has “made their bed”, and part of that makes me sad for our country. There’s no amount of facts or instances of omitting the truth that will convince some folks. One of the reasons government at every level is so mistrusted by the people, is a lack of accountability and the rocky relationship that some in government have with integrity. We need more integrity and honesty, not less. Now more than ever.

A final note to my fellow veterans, there is no need to misrepresent or “glorify” your service. Your service was enough.
