@ValaAfshar We have been saying this in edtech for the past 15 years now. As an educator in tech I have been saying to fellow educators that “we are preparing our students today for a world we do not even know what it will look like”.
@Rdene915@eschoolnews Thank you for the mention. It is crazy how much of an impact ESSER had on us getting up to speed and now how much of an impact it will have on us by it going away. Not sure how we maintain.
Great fireside chat tonight at @UMassLowell Innovation Hub with a good friend from college @ValaAfshar talking about his latest book Boundless. Great to see him again.

@dan72ros Question wasn’t even up on how to use it but if they knew what it was. I agree though. We as Tech Directors need to supply them with training quick.
This is crazy. We need to start exposing teachers to AI. I asked the question in a new teacher training the other day how many knew what Generative AI was and ChatGPT and about the same percentage knew. 13%.
75% of teachers believe AI should be taught to students. But only 13% have had any training on how to do this in their classroom.
(Stay tuned! 🤫)

Not even OpenAI can detect writing it has created.
Schools should give up on detecting “chesting on homework with AI” and should instead redefine homework, or get rid of it altogether.
