@JLazzy23 Brady got his ass kicked by Staal to open the playoffs and I’m sure will be looking for a rematch. Plus you know Matthew will be egging him on.
@NYRLouie Now that the draft is done, have to say you did the lord’s work on your thorough draft analysis and insights. I don’t think even the biggest NHL insiders put as much effort into it.
@NYRLouie Still think it would be an overpay, but I could live with Schneider and 26 for MacTavish. Who knows what kind of player we’ll get at 26 and at least with MacTavish we’d have a young NHL proven center.
@JLazzy23 I agree the situations are markedly different. While Drury was not going to get anything close to those other deals, he did probably leave quite a bit on the table by telegraphing almost from the beginning of the season that they weren’t going to re-sign Bread.
@JohnSmithygxp@NYRLouie Yes I know. And that contract will look bad in a few years as he ages into his 30s. We already got rid of enough bad aging contracts and still have a few left.
@PeteBlackburn I miss Gary Thorne and Bill Clement. They run circles around McDonough and Ferraro.
But to me, the best Cup raising moment was in 1987, when Gretzky handed it right over to the vindicated Steve Smith.
@JLazzy23 I think Marner wins the trophy whoever lifts the Cup. Freddie was really the only realistic Cane and that’s gone now - he may not even be in net again the rest of the series.
