@ldsabuse@twm_report If I understand their methodology - that might be more difficult... just because contracts are not always easily searchable via a public database right? between private insitutions?
One method could be looking at who mentions LDS contracts on social media / company websites...
@AislingRowan I still tease him about his "shotgun sneezes" sometimes, but I'm starting to get them too - I googled it out of curiosity and mostly just found people making jokes so who knows haha (https://t.co/6Os2QVS9TK)
@AislingRowan DAD SNEEZES ARE REAL. My dad used to sneeze so loud I could hear it from my neighbors front lawn across the street...while my dad was in the kitchen...no windows open lmao
@pswordwoman I love titles that add a clue for the reader, or a setting, or something that is simmering in the poem. I'm also a big fan of those titles that lead directly into the first line - with a question or declarative that just has some punch!
@earthtokb π totally fair
I've also been saying "Maybe someone will emily dickinson me after I die" so i don't have to submit and it's not a healthy way to live lmao.
@earthtokb I've only had a few poems published but I've already taken a "year off" from submitting and I feel free haha. I think I'm going to do a "year on / year off" kind of thing otherwise I burn out...
@gisselleyepes You probably have enough corresponders by now (this is a wonderful idea) - but this is definitely something I'm interested in as well! I've never done wax sealing, so I'll have to look that up...
I think I'll reach out to some folks on this chain. Thanks for starting this!
@sargzem@Bone_Bouquet absolutely gorgeous - "baffled prodigal and kingdom come" is so lyrical! The themes are rendered clear as water without sacrificing any depth. "Revisions of sons" is another standout in this repudiation of Biblical imagery that harks back to revolutionary 70s feminist verse.
@chillsubs I pay attention to content, for sure.
Like - would cursing / or sex be less welcome ? (I live in Utah, so this comes up more often than you might think for local mags)
Are there experimental elements? Common imagery?
Then I dig like a raccoon in the garage to find a match
@PeppercornParty@whitecatprophcy if there ever was a film to waste Anne Hathaway - "The Other Side of Heaven" is certainly it. Like two scenes? Three? they talk about the moon on a swingset, they get married, and that's it...
@olicketysplit πππso fun. if "stone fruit secrets" showed up on my spotify as a new indie band I would click on it without hearing a single note! just fun to say...
As someone who wants to do a "poetry corner" on Twitch or Youtube, I really love the visuals of this essay - because they aren't overwhelming, but are high quality!
Instant subscribe.
@AriWRees definitely more social skills / emotional intelligence classes for men for sure, and available at younger ages. group therapy is not a terrible place for men to learn some of these things, especially DBT - but it'd be cool if more of them dived into specific topics like this!
