Today’s announcement of $6 million dollars to help retailers respond to crime is significant for the sector. The ability for the most at-risk retailers to access crime prevention tools will support the sector on the issue of #RetailCrime.

This would be a disaster. It's worth noting that NSW has introduced a 72 hour self-isolation period for arrivals thanks to Omicron. Our week-long self-isolation period is already far more cautious than that.

Sure, in these strange times we can’t indulge in #RetailTherapy, so we may as well look back to retail culture of the past, in the first of our two blog posts about that erstwhile institution, the D.I.C. Read it here: https://t.co/PB33UyKyDN

@GeorgeKCampbell The Health Order that's in place allows construction of nationally important infrastructure to continue at Level 4. I would have thought Transmission Gully qualified as that.

@StephenClarkeNZ Actually, there's quite a few things, including international postal treaty negotiations, where we used to be jointly represented with a single delegation. I do wonder if there are areas where we would be stronger together these days too!
Thanks for your support on this Heather! We really need to get Wellington moving and support Wellington businesses by reducing congestion and not driving away customers. @RetailNZ@WgtnChamber#progresswellington
Could it just be that 40,000 people were either away from their home on Census night or just didn't answer the Census questions? https://t.co/vMFU8fxQC2
@RebeccaJEmm It's great you want to work with the arts community on this. It would be awesome if the Council were prepared to be flexible and work with retailers too!
@StuartBDonovan @RetailNZ@libertyscott There's always a bit of churn in the retail market - but this could also lead to a shrinking of overall retail space as businesses reduce or change their footprints. A broader issue is reduced diversity in the potential retail offering - incentivising customers to go elsewhere.
@libertyscott This analysis is broadly right from what I see there are very few local body politicians focused on keeping rates down. Rather, they are mostly quite happy to approve massive rates rises year on year...
Retailing in 2020 wasn't what anyone expected as @AceeyShaw's articleshows. Things are still evolving, but we're definitely seeing a two speed retail sector - some firms doing well and others doing poorly. CBD retailers & those in tourist towns are finding it tough. @RetailNZ
