@telegram@smstelegram what do I have to do to get you to look at my case?? I've been locked out of my account for weeks without explanation! All the great features and security of the app are worthless if you can just suddenly be disappeared from the system. My family misses me!
@barstoolsports Love this, every conference should have relegation/promotion agreements! It both avoids weak schools coasting on the brand of their conference and provides opportunity for up and comers. Imagine, every game mattering, even in a bust season!
@wonnacottyledon@ro_bernhardt@cafreiman It's not all the "money" in the country, it's all of the income. And income does not equal wealth, so your screen grab does not speak directly to the concept illustrated in the rankings. While it's true that income is also unequal, it's nothing compared to the wealth distribution
@jordanbpeterson want a place to keep their money safe and accessible to them. Bank risk management is important and some lessons are going to be learned from SVB and the other examples, but people in general aren't - and shouldn't be - losing faith in their banks. 6/
@jordanbpeterson Does it mean that banks should probably increase the rates they pay on deposits? Yeah, probably, and there's no reason to think they won't respond to that. But also, remember that the vast majority of ordinary depositors are not banking to get a return, they just 5/
@Kontext17@JudiciaIreview@jordanbpeterson In other words, deflation makes the money you already have more valuable, but earning your next dollar more difficult. This is, in fact, a recipe for putting the brakes on the economy
@Kontext17@JudiciaIreview@jordanbpeterson I don't know what you mean by conserve energy in this context, but think through the logic on your deflation theory. If everything becomes steadily cheaper (deflation), then the stuff we're all PRODUCING becomes less valuable, and eventually not worth producing.
@jordanbpeterson 3) a ponzi scheme collapses as people take their money out of the system and investors can't be repaid, and the fraud is revealed. The fiat system is resilient to a "run" on the institution exactly BECAUSE the value is arbitrarily determined by the institution. And again, no fraud
@jordanbpeterson (You might think the value placed on the us government's reputation is too high, but I might think the same about the price of silver or gold)
@Kontext17@JudiciaIreview@jordanbpeterson All money, whether based on credit or not, must increase forever, as long as the economy is growing. Otherwise money itself becomes scarce and is no longer useful as a unit of account. High inflation is bad, but deflation is usually worse
