@ManagerTactical Of course it’s semantics. But seems fair to say “world class” at least = automatic, no discussion starter on top ~8 narional and club teams, except in rare situations where team has stupid excess at his position.
@JeffreyCarlisle@bob_morocco So Cherundolo wasn’t even interviewed and yet posed in the media like he was deep in discussions. (“I am … currently … the manager of …”)
Oof.
@dis_possessed Yet again Richards is in slow jog while ballwatching in critical area at critical moment. He needs to be anticipating, in position or at least fucking engaged - he may as well have not been in the game. He is wearing the armband. This is typical of him. Opposite of urgency.
@StanUsmnt Does he think pre-match Jesse Marsch runs through tactics and bounces? “Ok, meet y’all on the pitch.”
Disqualifying for any coaching position. Ludicrous for a national team
@ManagerTactical Passion, fight, character can be harnessed and directed but ultimately Chris Richards is Chris Richards. Johnny is Johnny. Wes is Wes. Musah is Musah
McBride, Mastro, Jermaine, Bradley, Clint are intrinsically different
See hints of this in Gio. Pulisic can find it.
@AlexiLalas It isn’t a 94 thing. Teams through around 2010 or so had it. Now we see echoes of it in surprising places (Gio, Pulisic), and nothing in places we expect to see it (McKennie, Richards).
@ManagerTactical How is it possible that USA soccer journalists have offered zero pieces of info on the meaning of this quote or in fact ANYTHING on Poch / USSF? For 3 weeks. I don’t claim to have expertise but isn’t this sorta ridiculous ?
@libsoftiktok The idea being, “Haha, he’s so short, what a loser haha.” “Yeah, he’s so short and nerdy compared to Elon, he’s so short and weird looking hahaha!” Seriously - do you people never wonder, even for a second, if you are of below average intelligence?
@USMNTOtaku@CBSSportsGolazo Hearing a lot of this but what’s missed is that these players are talking about clubs. National team camps will differ on this more than maybe anything. He isn’t gonna subject players in midseason to grueling training. Maybe some of this mentality but idea is totally inapposite
@ManagerTactical According to sources inside my ass roster release is being delayed to allow Pochettino to provide input on a handful of judgment call spots if, as expected, he formally becomes USMNT manager by COB tomorrow.
