"I was told if it was any lower and hit the bone it probably would've shattered, but thankfully I'm so tall that it got me into the good part."
Glad to hear Jared Jones still cracking jokes 😅⬇️

Observations from Sunday at Shinnecock....
1. Gutsy is what comes to mind. Wyndham Clark and his caddie may have been the only people on-site who wanted Clark to win but that didn't matter. Process, guts and a load of putts.
2. What a weird week of crowds. Unsold tickets, low-key start to the week, leaving early yesterday and then showing up to abuse Clark today. This plus Bethpage leaves a few questions for NY golf fans. Literally saw a guy kicked out by police after shouting at the leaders on the first tee.
3. Shinnecock is great. So lucky to have been here to see it for the first time in person. Love the shape and movement of the holes, the green run-offs, the views, the clubhouse. A special place.
4. Sam Burns. Was the name I kept hearing early in the week. Credit to the 3 or 4 lads in the media centre that were locked on him. Was behind his second shot into the first today and I thought it was going to go in. When he's on, his game is so solid. Heartbreak again for him in a major but does seem due.
5. Hard not to tip your cap to the USGA. Feels weird to say but the set-up this week was incredible. Plenty of challenge, always fair and with enough spice that only three players finished under par. Considering the conditions (especially the wind) all week, that didn't seem possible.
6. Going to think about Wyndham's second into 10 for a while. Same shot Rory thinned over the green on Friday yet with a harder pin to get close to. The noise of the strike, the flight, the spin. Four feet. His first (and much needed) birdie of the day. Two shot lead again.
7. As @LukeKerrDineen pointed out today, the last three winners here won their second US Open. Is that coincident or correlation? Do you require US Open experience and nouse to survive a week here? Maybe?
8. The Twix ice cream bars in the media centre were a surprise and a delight. Crushed 5 or 6 after walking around in the heat. Going to miss that taste.
9. We're onto Birkdale. Excited to see an Open there. Feels like a blind spot for a lot of fans but trust me, it's going to be great. First stop for me though? Miami. Scotland vs Brazil on Wednesday. Let's go.
😈😤⛳️ #REDEMPTION — Wyndham Clark says he can maybe "gain all the fans back" following last year's locker room incident with a good weekend at Shinnecock Hills
"I've gotten a lot of grief since last year, rightfully so... the thing that's unfortunate is that's not who I am, what happened last year... I really feel like I can show people that I'm fun and outgoing, I'm fierce, competitive, love the game, respect the game, and I just had a bad moment.
I definitely feel like I'm in a better place. Hopefully a great weekend and great rest of the year, maybe I'll gain all those fans back."
Have you come to like Wyndham Clark again?
"Thought it'd be a good Father's Day present."
Miles Russell got the OK from the U.S. Open's Rules Committee, then brought in his dad to caddie for the final hole of his first U.S. Open.
The 17-year-old made par to complete an even-par 70 at Shinnecock Hills.
10/10 Father's Day for Miles and Joe Russell ❤️
