Lauren Ryan and Leanne Pompeani lead the charge in the Women’s 10km at the World Cross Country Championships, racing bravely over the rollercoaster hill and through alligator alley to mix it with the world’s best distance runners.

Australia claim fifth place as a team in the event with strong supporting acts.

@VirginAustralia Tell how wonderful it is for 14yo girl to be left waiting for 3hrs for re-booked flight , sitting there with anxiety after missing her opportunity to do her AFL trials by the AFL official airline, who doesn't care..think its ok to bump a 14yo off a flight #wonderful not !!

@VirginAustralia No Heart.. and how to spoil a 14yo girls football dream.. You bump her off her flight today and left her stranded/scared in airport for 3hrs, missed her football trials. AFL official airline .Terrible journey . Oh here's a $16 food voucher.. Sorry Poor SERVICE #virginhasnoheart !
