I am excited to speak about the American Revolution in Tuscaloosa on June 25 and hope you will consider attending: “Understanding How a Revolution Started and How it Changed After It Succeeded”
Our Court has just amended Alabama Rule of Civil Procedure 70A to make clear the unadjudicated claims for contempt are deemed denied and thus judgments are final and capable of appeal. This can be particularly important in domestic relations cases.
Our Court is hosting two oral arguments today in appeals pending in our Court. The public should be able to watch the live stream at:

Very proud of my friend and newly confirmed federal judge. @JudgeBillLewis Well done. And a big thank you to our two very effective senators. I saw them working the floor.
With the addition of Bill Lewis to our Court, we recently had a new Court photo. Given his federal nomination, we will have to make the most of our time with him. Very proud to serve with him and all of my colleagues. @JudgeBillLewis
Very sorry to see my friend - United States District Judge David Proctor announce that he is taking senior status. What a wonderful example he has set for the judiciary and what a public servant he has been. Thank you Judge Proctor.
Chief U.S. District Judge David Proctor of the Northern District of Alabama has informed the president that he will take senior status Jan. 1, 2026. https://t.co/tECyTKfThB
The @AlabamaStateBar hosted a Milestone Luncheon yesterday in honor of its 50-year bar members and their legacies of service. I enjoyed being with my judicial colleagues as well as former AL Supreme Court Justice Tom Woodall. #alpolitics
Confirmation hearings today for my colleague and friend Bill Lewis before the US Senate. I believe Eddie LaCour will also be before the committee. The first panel is at 9:15 but their panel is second. Very proud of Justice Lewis. @JudgeBillLewis

Our Court has just adopted an important rule allowing for litigants to request a limited extension of time deadlines for technical problems. We always prefers that each case be decided on its merits, however I urge lawyers to read the details because this is a narrow exception.
Honored to have the opportunity to speak on a panel with 7 other justices today at @AlabamaStateBar meeting and then speak on a panel on appellate law with Eleventh Circuit Chief Judge Bill Pryor and Marc Ayers. The Alabama Bar has put on a great meeting.
