On the morning of October 23, 1983, a suicide bombing carried out by Iran-backed Hezbollah destroyed the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 299 people. The casualties included 241 U.S. Marines and Sailors, representing the Marine Corps' highest single-day loss of life since the Battle of Iwo Jima.
WE NEVER FORGET! 🇺🇸
On Oct. 23, 1983, a suicide truck bomber attacked the Battalion Landing Team headquarters in Beirut, killing 220 Marines, 18 sailors and 3 soldiers. Marine veteran and DAV member Keith “EZ” Ezell was among the survivors of the peacekeeping mission in Beirut.
Later in life, though, he would face an invisible foe lurking within his own body. An aggressive form of bladder cancer had been waging a secret war against him.
In his time of need, Ezell was able to turn to a fellow Marine veteran of Beirut and DAV benefits advocate Don Inns.

Lord Jesus, we come together in unity this morning, heart to heart in Your presence. We don't just pray for one another—we stand side by side and pray with you today.🇺🇸🦅🕊️🇺🇸🦅🕊️🙏
Together, we pray:

Our United R.E.D. Friday Prayer
Lord Jesus,
We draw near to You together as this new day unfolds. We thank You with united hearts for Your unfailing, unchanging love that holds us secure.
Help us both to rest deeply in Your presence today instead of striving in our own strength. Let Your Word be the lamp that guides our thoughts, Your Holy Spirit the guide that directs our every step, and Your perfect love the source that fills our hearts to overflowing. Teach us to walk together in joyful obedience, reflecting Your goodness, grace, and light wherever we go.
On this R.E.D. Friday, we join our voices to lift up the brave men and women serving our nation around the world. Lord, surround our deployed military members and their families with Your divine protection, strength, and comfort. Keep them safe in the palm of Your hand, shield them in every season, and bring them home safely.
When fears arise, we choose together to abide in Your love.
When weariness settles in, we lean on You and abide in Your love.
When life feels uncertain, we anchor our souls and abide in Your love.
We rest in the quiet, undeniable confidence that we are deeply loved, held, and never alone.
In Your holy and precious name, Lord Jesus, we pray.
Amen. 🔴🤍✝️🇺🇸
It is a privilege to stand in faith with you today. May the peace, light, and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ surround you through every hour of this day!
