Scientists have found evidence that those who cultivate love and compassion have greater peace of mind, while constant anger and fear make us uneasy and are bad for health. Common sense too tells us that people who are moved by love and compassion are peaceful and happy.
It’s impossible to know how much collateral damage their selfish and reckless choice will wreak. We'd never have eradicated polio or smallpox if the same anti-vax movement had existed 50 or 60 years ago. And we may never eradicate COVID because of them today.
Rather than acknowledge the life-saving value of these vaccines, they're obsessed with irrelevant arguments over personal freedoms and consumed with a moronic distrust of experts. They put their faith in pseudoscience and callous politicians who play them for the suckers they are
I wrote much of LOST IMMUNITY, a cautionary tale about vaccine hesitancy, before COVID. In it, I paint anti-vaxxers as well-meaning and thoughtful, though misguided. Now, 8 months after the emergence of the safest, most effective vaccines ever, I REGRET my charitable portrayal.

When we're born, our mothers show us compassion. This is a natural response without which we wouldn't survive. Our lives begin with an experience of kindness and compassion. Mothers’ Day is a good day to remember how important compassion can be.
