@MilesTaylorUSA They wanted a theocracy so they made a deal with the devil.
Now they demand sympathy because the devil has come to collect.
They won't get any from me
@MeidasTouch A brokedown Greyhound bus where the exhaust is emptying into the carriage, the AC is broken, the driver is drunk, and max speed of 20 mph to a Gulfstream jet filled with loved ones
@LeftHandedLarue Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Love Medicine by Louis Erdich
The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay
@29_Jewels@baekeland@WillSing4TP @LeftHandedLarue @March4HerandUs Omg, it's spectacular. Totally different than GG. GG takes place in one room inside one woman's mind. Talisman spans worlds.
I'd also recommend The Shining and It
@LeftHandedLarue The Silo Trilogy by Hugh Howey. My one recommendation that everyone, regardless of age or taste, devours.
If all else fails, I find NPR's book concierge rarely disappoints. Hundreds of the year's best books organized by genre, length, & mood.

@jcdav@DanLarge2 @FacesOfCOVID @keder 320 million Americans didn't die on 9/11, yet we altered our air travel system at great expense. Only 17K people died in car accidents in 2020, leaving hundreds of millions unharmed. Why all the seat belts, air bags, and speed limits?
Your argument is logically unsound
@jcdav@DanLarge2 @FacesOfCOVID @keder What makes it cruel is the 500K+ who weren't so lucky. It's like bragging about your kid's sports achievements at a child's graveside service
Of course, you'd have to care about our country, countrymen, and collective loss to understand this. Looks like you only care about JC
@yeahokisee@SassyMetisChick "I've heard that the son must bear
The burdens of the father
But it's the daughter that is left
To clean up the mess
And I don't want you to think
That I'm asking for absolution,
But run is what I did when put to the test"
Love them, what a voice on her
@bishtakesknight @_SalmanAnwar Theme parks!!!
This is an inarguable fact. Americans uniquely possess the necessary melange of kitsch, tackiness, and hubris required to produce great theme parks.
@marmiesgirl @TheRealHoarse I lived in one for 5 years. It was awful. People watching TV couldn't hear over the kitchen sounds, people having a conversation couldn't hear over the TV.
Went out and bought the most chopped up house I could find as soon as I could and I love it. Zero sound issues
@DoNaytion @Bobbymccs @WindyCityChik @TheRealHoarse EMG's devine voice indeed. I'd had no idea he had such an instrument! I've been slavishly in love with him ever since
