Amid the mass shooting in Kansas City, there needs to be an immediate call for change in America’s gun laws. Gun violence in America is a public health issue, as almost 43,000 people die and 60,000 more are injured in gun related incidents. @XUHealthEquity

With drug related deaths reaching over 112,000 a year, only 1 in 5 people with addictions are able to access methadone, which has been shown to cut the risk of fatalities and relapses by almost 60%. Methadone will only be available at about 2,000 OTPs nationwide. @XUHealthEquity

Measles was eradicated successfully in the United States by 2000. There are 9 reported cases in Philadelphia this year. Vaccination access is key to ensure there is no chance to transmit the measles again, as it caused 2.6 million deaths each year at its worst. @XUHealthEquity
