Bostrom asks us to imagine human creativity and scientific progress as reaching into a giant urn filled with balls:
• ⚪ White Balls: Completely safe, beneficial technologies (e.g., the printing press or water purification).
• 🔘 Gray Balls: Mixed blessings with manageable risks (e.g., nuclear power, electricity, or the internet).
• ⚫ The Black Ball: A technology that is so fundamentally dangerous that its mere discovery by default destroys the civilization that found it.

Creating artificial super intelligence could be humanity selecting that black ball. It's really not something I think we should do.
