"The Giants can't trade Kayvon with Burns out. They need Kayvon!"

Oh:

[Polymarket Football @PolymarketBlitz]

🚨𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧: Kayvon Thibodeaux’s PFF rankings:

• Overall defense: 93rd/109
• Pass rush: 99th/109
• Run defense: 104th/109
• Sacks: ZERO

Just four pressures through three games.

[Big Blue Film Room @BigBlueFilmRoom]

Jonathan Jones of The Athletic lists Kayvon Thibodeaux as a player to watch at the trade deadline.

Thibodeaux has produced just 2.5 sacks since the start of the 2025 season.

He will be a free agent at the end of the year.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

Kayvon has to be traded. It's just not working out. Kayvon for Marv.

[Underdog NFL @UnderdogNFL]

Early trade deadline candidates to keep an eye on, per @jjones9:

Marvin Harrison Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr.
Jerry Jeudy
Kayvon Thibodeaux
Alex Highsmith
Daron Payne
Grover Stewart

I would actually prefer Jihad Ward over Kayvon Thibodeaux at this point.

John Harbaugh on how to get JJ McCarthy up to speed in Matt Nagy's offense:

"Right out of the gates, get a feel for where the parrells are. Where the terminology is similar. Where the rules for the offense are kind of built the same way. There's no way you can just drop a whole offense in a guy's hands."

Harbaugh emphasizes first finding similarities in what McCarthy already knows, and then going from there in terms of new terminology.

Ian Rapoport says if Jameis Winston looks "ok or less than ok" then:

"You are probably going to see JJ McCarthy play as soon as he is comfortable."

(Via Pat McAfee Show)

He adds that there is an "immediate future" for him with the Giants.

It sounds like the Giants acquired McCarthy to take over as the starter sooner rather than later.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

Coach sounds like he is leaving the door open for a potential McCarthy role as soon as this week. In some form.

[Big Blue Film Room @BigBlueFilmRoom]

John Harbaugh on JJ McCarthy's role this week vs the Cardinals:

"Whether he's the number 2 or number 3 quarterback this week, we'll see, on gameday. But he'll be ready for whatever he's got to do."

It will be interesting to see when McCarthy sees game action, especially if Jameis Winston struggles.

Amazing what a change in coaching staff can do.

Jevon Holland was invisible last season.

Within the 1st month, he's NFC Defensive Player of the Month.

[Big Blue Film Room @BigBlueFilmRoom]

Jevon Holland has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Month.

Holland recorded 3 interceptions, with one of those being a game-clinching interception off of Cam Ward.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

I've truly never seen a player perform so poorly and never face competition like JMS.

Year 4 and PFF has him as the 2nd worst center in the NFL.

[Big Blue Film Room @BigBlueFilmRoom]

The Giants have signed C Kendrick Green to the practice squad, per Dan Duggan.

He's started 19 career games; he's a former 3rd round pick (2021); he's spent time with the Steelers, Texans and Browns.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

If Jameis is horrible by halftime, I wouldn't be surprised if JJ McCarthy sees action.

This idea that McCarthy needs to learn the offense, and patience is needed, is funny.

They didn't trade for him to be the future.

He is the now.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

I'm all for this.

Dennard Wilson on Arvell Reese potentially seeing more reps as a pass rusher with Brian Burns out for the season:

"We can move him around a little bit. Put him on the line of scrimmage. ... So it's just about giving him favorable matchups and put him in positions to have success."

Chris Collinsworth believes this Giants offense is much easier for JJ McCarthy than what he had in Minnesota:

"He was put into a very advanced offense [in Minnesota]. ... This is a much easier offense [in New York]. This is an offense that's going to run the ball first. This is an offense that's going to try to establish an old Bill Parcells-New York Giants approach."

Kayvon Thibodeaux for Marvin Harrison Jr.

[Gridiron Media @Gridiron_Media]

I am genuinely interested in watching McCarthy play.

JJ McCarthy is making a "good" first impression with Giants teammates, per Art Stapleton.

He adds that McCarthy is already "winning over" teammates too with his approach to football.

McCarthy went 6-4 last season as the Vikings starter.

The Giants are signing Josh Tupou to the practice squad, per Jordan Raanan.

Tupou was recently released by the Giants.
