I know it’s been doing the rounds but during Villa’s next home league game against Sunderland, there’ll be a 64th minute applause for the late Gaz Rouse who passed away suddenly earlier this month
Another Holte Ender In The Sky 💜
RIP
Does someone need to remind them they're 3rd in league?! Absolutely disgusting performance and yes I'll stick my neck out and say Emery has lost it abit? Choosing Watkins over Tammy?! Absolutely abysmal decision! And I know most will agree! #AVFC
Unai Emery is a great coach but not beyond criticism. If Liverpool fans can criticise a title winning coach and City fans bag Pep when he gets it wrong then Unai isn't off limits.
Too slow. With a fully fit selection the dead slow play works because the players on midfield and forwards are good enough to hit teams in well organised bursts, or in the case of City and Arsenal last season at home, 90 minutes of pure graft and intelligence.
Now it's just slow and the coaching staff need to instill a simple message or this is going to be an 8 or 9 game season major capitulation.
That message is, forget Europe ( we're not in the top 6 in Europa League at the moment, nevermind fucking winners elect. No chance), forget overplaying, forget the keeper standing on it for 5 minutes at a time. Play aggressive, tempo, spite, make opposition feel discomfort as though it's a relegation team they're playing. And if we do that, then we can limp over the line with the cavalry joining in 4 to 6 weeks time.
Managers have to be flexible and no manager can play how he wants to all of the time because injuries, poor form, loss of confidence will hit at some point. So a plan B has to become A.
If we play the same way for the next 8 games, we'll be out of Europe and looking at Conference League qualification. Let's own it, embrace it and ditch the style and start duking it out with teams physically, work harder on set pieces and the absolute basics.
But does Unai have a Plan B? We're about to find out because tonight is on him and his selections.

Some personal news ⤵️
This week I have been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (MF) which is a rare, slow-growing chronic blood cancer.
I am not quite sure what that means yet, and what the next steps are.
It’s unlike me to bring anything personal to this page but I thought it’s worth saying something as my interactions on here may be put on the back burner from time to time including streaming.
If anyone has been diagnosed with MPN or MF and has any advice for me I would be grateful to hear it.
Cheers, Dale 💜
