@thelastbigkat Stubborn idealist- Before the writing got stupid, Ruby was on track to be this compared to the jaded, exhausted older generation who needed to be reminded of what the war with Salem had taken from them. (Then the writing got stupid and she's a charicature of that now.)

@thelastbigkat It does seem a bit weird, but I've only ever seen nb people use it, and there is at least a small precedent of referring to people as "a she" and "a he", albeit in extremely specific contexts. 🤔🤔

@thelastbigkat It's also not fair to expect critique to come from a place of affection, because that just silences people who hate the work and want to talk about why. Think of the wf discourse- remember the 'I love J*s/L*ura' disclaimers? Well what if you didn't? Is your word now invalid?

@thelastbigkat Hell, your critiques can come from a place of love for one aspect of the work and a place of hate for another, because humans have complicated relationships with things that they enjoy. (ex, me critiquing Ruby because I love her but critiqing RWBY because I hate it.)

@thelastbigkat I really loved that aspect of the game when I played, though I hope in future games like that also let you specify if you're only interested in pursuing one gender of character romantically. I fell in love with all of the female characters and would have jumped at the chance-
