“To start Akara business doesn't take a lot of money. To start roasting corn and kuli-kuli doesn't take much. We didn't give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have encouraged Nigerians as best as we could.”
- First Lady Remi Tinubu
It was intended to be a slur. I think anyone who followed the conversation knows that. If that was a reply punch, it was below the belt and should not be made by the intellectuals of a country that still struggles with high ethnic tensions.
Egbon,
@tokunbo_wahab has done nothing wrong here. Let’s follow the flow of the conversation from the beginning.
By all means, hold him accountable and challenge him on his responsibilities where necessary, but don't use that as an opportunity to subtly accuse him of things that are unsupported.
What exactly do you mean by, “Not to mention your bigotry and gaslighting”? If those allegations were never made and Mr. Wahab independently went on to say what he said, then perhaps there would be grounds to question his conduct.
However, the situation is different when you first accuse him of something, and he responds by showing evidence of you doing the same thing, while also teasing you with the very label you used against him by calling you “Chinedu”. At that point, it is hardly surprising that the conversation went in that direction.
In simple terms, once you threw the first punch, you shouldn't be shocked that one came back.
🚨 I’m actually grateful to this man for quite a number of things.
Regardless of how things turned a bit sour after he came in, I think a lot of those issues were already set in motion before he inherited the system.
When you really look at it, we should give him some credit. He helped unlock João Pedro’s best qualities, gave us the Andrey Santos we now know and cherish, and helped us discover why Hato was trusted with the Ajax captaincy at just 18.
Without him, I doubt we'd be viewing these Chelsea players in quite the same light today.
So, whatever your opinion of his tenure may be, he deserves credit for that at the very least.

Our party has decided not to conduct primaries for the Senatorial seat in FCT Abuja. It however intends to conduct primaries for House of Representatives! Go ahead and make your choice known!
I urge each and everyone of you to remain calm and focus on the bigger picture which is the presidential election. Nigeria will be OK!
I appreciate all your support, dedication and commitment towards #AishaForSenate project.
In the coming week I will be returning back to all the 6 Area Councils God willing to appreciate them for the warm welcome and continue to forge ahead for a #BetterFCT
Stop collecting money at the polls to sell your life. Call out the government on any platform you have.
It's children's day, and these kids will inherit the future you give them. Let's make that future good.
#Happychildrensday [Nigeria|Tinubu|Primaries|Faka|39billion]
It's children's day. We should be happy. There was a time we were. Children's day signified a time to celebrate the beauty of childhood and the freedom that comes with it.
I wake up this morning and cannot, however, remove the thoughts of those children kidnapped from my mind.
Hold and treasure your child because, in the current reality that we live, it is a gift to spend time with one. More importantly, let's call out the government together. Let's not become desensitized to the issue as I am becoming. Don't say: "what's my own?" Vote right, Nigeria.
@inecnigeria how are you people not seeing the videos of the counting at the APC primaries or were you not there to observe?
@channelstv@ARISEtv This should be top issues for discussion because how will the counting look like for the main election?
Ned Nwoko threw his glory away and the political door to the senate got closed instantly. Reginal Daniels left with her glory. As a man, don't play with the glory your wife carries over your life. The glory of many men are tied to their wives. Yes, they may be succeeding but, the next door can only be opened by the wife's glory.
For 12 years, I can only say two things about what this man. The first is when he called EndSars protesters small boys or something like that. The second is the Obasa impeachment saga.
Now that's he is having a taste of the governance he supported, he has become Gandhi. Toor
