On 4/28, History Table is lucky to be joined by Prof. Jennifer Brown from the @GrinnellCollege Department of Music! "Singing While Black: Images of Africans and Slavery in 17th-century Italian Opera" derives from Prof. Brown's research on the opera Scipione Affricano (1664).

Alum Alexandra Odom '16 will lead a discussion titled "Black Love and Relationships in Black Owned Publications" at history table this week! Alex is a PhD Student at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, researching African American history in the 20th century.

Grinnell GWSS Prof. Tamara Beauboeuf-Lafontant will be History Table's featured speaker this week. She will lead a discussion about Edith Renfrow Smith '37, the first African American woman to graduate from Grinnell.
