FromSoft made something truly unique and special with ACV and VD's multiplayer. The best PvP experience I've had in any game to date. And unfortunately, I sincerely doubt that we'll ever see them try to do anything like it again...
And 4 years later, there's 100% on Rebirth as well. Double the discs, double the time. Great game, fantastic combat, very good main story/character stuff. Could have done with less open world/sidequest/minigame content...

VD servers are shutting down in about 3 months. After that, the only way to play the multiplayer of this game, will be via emulator that requires a high-end CPU to work.
Maybe we can see a port to modern platforms so people can play AC PvP that doesn't suck? No chance...
First major #ARMOREDCOREVI balancing patch is out. While it looks promising from a balance standpoint, it still won't change how the game is played, aside from what weapons everyone uses. The problems with its central design, which pushed me away, are still all there...
Initially made a rather rash knee-jerk reaction to the #ACVI footage from this morning. After some time to sort thoughts, I'm still very wary of the game now, but still holding out hope that there's more to the game than what little they've shown for face value.
@Peeverson Also, the PS3 era games play very differently from the PS1/PS2 era games. The older games are definitely worth checking out, if you have the means (or don't mind emulating), but they will feel a lot more jank. And AC4/4A does also play very differently from ACV/VD as well.
@Peeverson Well, just as a heads up, ACV probably isn't the best experience these days. It was designed as a multiplayer game, and the servers are gone. Story's okay, but the game shone best in the 4v4 PvP. Its sequel, Verdict Day is still online, but you'll have to coordinate matches.
