I heard that Phil Anderson W0XI passed away recently. He was the first owner of the TNC maker Kantronics. Phil was a colorful character; I remember him (at a TAPR, AMSAT or ARRL conference in the 1980s?) putting forks in the ends of a pickle and connecting them to 120V AC.

@TechDiego Many of us owe a lot to Franklin. He had a unique mind. He would challenge you but also teach you - on a breadth of topics ranging from wireless tech, HAM radio, but also the details of tax prep, gardening, how you fix your home appliance, and much more. Will be greatly missed.
