@historyinmemes I think I saw an interview with a guy who was Bezos' neighbour and invested a relatively small amount to help him out. He is now a billionaire.
@BretDevereaux I've been a fan of fantasy fiction all my life. I've watched & read some terrible stuff & still been able to enjoy it. Hawk the Slayer is a good example. It's almost heroic how the Rings of Power people took so much money & such great source material & managed to make it boring.
@ReubenR80027912@signulll Affordability is also an issue. We have one child and may have wanted more but it wasnt really an option as my wife needed to work and we couldn't have paid for childcare for two kids.
@ReubenR80027912@signulll I think most women do want to be mothers, it's just they want one or two kids not four or five like my grandparents generation.
@SJAMcBride I've just returned from Dublin today. If the south is doing so well economically why is so much of the capital city derelict? Shocking amounts of boarded up properties even right in the city centre.
@Tony77171568646 I wish the mother had said yes to the kids going to band practice. An Irish speaking mixed religion flute band member would be glorious.
@Maceroni2000@SeanMur89042829@NewstalkFM It may seem counter intuitive but voting for a nationalist party in the council elections doesn't necessarily translate to voting for a united Ireland. Many catholics vote nationalist but are doing well with NI in the UK
@lporiginalg As a parent I find utterly unfathomable that someone could be in a position where with a flick of a pen or push of a button they could make the lives of their children and grandchildren significantly easier, and yet don't.
