Ahead of Starship’s next launch, we built a team of autonomous agents covering Flight, Orbit, Payload, Network & Weather — coordinating around the clock and escalating only mission-critical decisions to a human Director.

That structure maps closely to how Grok Bot is actually designed: persistent agents with their own computers, parallel work, agent-to-agent coordination, and human approval gates when an action crosses a defined boundary.

We’re submitting Grok Base to the official Grok Bot Sharing Contest and opening the Bot template so anyone can run the mission.

If Grok Base gets us to Hawthorne or Starbase, the project moves from simulation to field mode: the agents become a live operational layer around the launch — tracking public telemetry, weather, launch status, Starlink deployment, recovery conditions and mission updates in parallel, building a persistent mission log and surfacing the few decisions or anomalies that actually deserve the Director’s attention.

The grand prize is a trip to Starbase to view a Starship launch, while nine first-prize winners receive a trip to the SpaceX rocket factory in Hawthorne.
