Delhi Police booked him under the SC/ST Act. The Supreme Court today ruled that a Hindu who converts to another religion will not get reservation benefits.

Dipke is said to have left Hinduism and become a Buddhist. Just because the SC/ST Act is generally not applied against an SC person himself does not end the discussion. Once religion is changed, all SC/ST benefits should stop.

Those who understand the system know what follows next. If the Court enforces this clearly, Dipke’s strategy is finished.
