The whole point of software engineering was always to work your way out of a job. If a software engineer is doing the same thing today as they were doing yesterday, they're doing something wrong.

Deep linking of abstract ideas only flourish when the mind is no longer occupied with immediate necessities.
On the other hand, it takes a certain internal fire and drive to shape the universe to ones will.
I think the solution to this is AI with video native output. You will speak to it, and it will render a realtime video of the architecture or design or bug you have in mind, and that will help you iterate quickly.
Imagine debugging some gnarly multi threaded code with some deadlock. You have logs, but parsing through those manually, or even reading some AI analysis is cumbersome. If the AI could instead render swimlanes with processes and locks, you could visually understand where the deadlock is very quickly. An animation could show the proceeding state that lead up to the deadlock.
Or an architecture diagram for some new API endpoint. If AI could run a quick visual simulation on the behavior for various edge cases, like some thundering herd problem, or cache rehydration, the implications could be understood very quickly.

AI is still very much an amplifier, and largely meets you where you're at.
So passing some arbitrary leetcode bar still indicates to the interviewer that you can problem solve.
