Safety brakes: yes. Powerful AI has to stay under human control.

One thing to get right: "secure cloud" shouldn't become shorthand for a short list of providers. Safety is an operating standard — access, monitoring, incident response, auditability.

We built Groq Cloud for AI from the start, so safeguards go in at every level. We set a high bar for ourselves and respond to new risks fast.

[Brad Smith @BradSmi]

We've long argued for a balanced approach to AI regulation. One that keeps humans in control. Since 2023, @Microsoft has advocated for "safety brakes" or an “off switch" that keeps advanced AI systems under human control. And it should ensure that AI systems that control critical infrastructure and autonomous systems be run in secure cloud infrastructure with layered safeguards that provide additional intervention points as needed. Put simply, powerful AI systems should always remain under human control, including interruption, correction, and shutdown.

This approach is tried and tested. In the 1850s, Elisha Otis’ demonstration of a safety brake at the World’s Fair helped earn the public’s trust – and made modern cities possible. We should adopt this principle for AI. If we do, AI can become a powerful tool for human progress. If we don't, a lack of public trust, not regulation, will become the limiting factor that slows AI adoption.

We are thrilled to announce that Groq will be among the first adopters of NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX, deploying it alongside NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 in our purpose-built AI inference Cloud. Groq is working with Dell Technologies to deploy NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX.

When Groq brings NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX capacity online, it arrives on infrastructure already optimized for high-demand inference workloads. For enterprises and AI companies building the next generation of agents, Groq will provide one of the earliest paths to put NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX to work on real production workloads.

Today we announced a $350M Series A led by @disruptivetech, with planned participation from @nvidia, valuing Groq at $3.5B and bringing our total to $1B raised in two months.

Inference is becoming the largest and most critical layer of AI infrastructure and it's what we do better than anyone. The injection of capital will support those seeking usage of medium and larger sized clusters of NVIDIA accelerated computing for training and inference. Groq expects to scale from 54 megawatts to 200+ megawatts next year.

Today, more than 6 million developers, Fortune 500 enterprises and thousands of AI-native companies build on Groq, generating trillions of tokens every week.
