@yaskeeler I understand they happen once a year unless the taxes and, if applicable, any associated tax sale fees are paid up prior to the sale.

Our Municipality had a public tax sale this October. We hadn't had one in many years. I'm curious how common or maybe I should say frequently, these occur in other Municipalities? #mgmt0180

@DeanneDuke16 Lots of questions about the EPTCA and the farmland school tax credit. The tax insert that was provided to send out with the tax bills was confusing.

@DeanneDuke16 Yes we don't have a large staff so we have more role specific responsibilities and plan our vacation around our busy times. However we delegate work to another co worker if it's time sensitive while we're away.

I was asked the question and am curious if other municipalities cross train their employees? If someone is away is someone else trained to do that person work? #mgmt0180

@yaskeeler I agree, but a lot of tasks are specific to our roles so it would to be hard to cross train in everything and keep up with your own responsibilities. I definitely see the benefits of cross training as much as possible.

@Stefanylowe204 Do you mean an employee commuting to work or commuting for work? Our employees (mostly public works guys) have a municipal vehicle to get around for work so fuel is also paid for by the municipality. I don't think that mileage needs to be claimed for those of us just commuting.

@DeanneDuke16 I agree, voting felt safe in my opinion. I do think we need to make voting easier, either adding weekend voting, a mail in option or incorporate a voting app. #mgmt0180

@Stefanylowe204 Yes I'm excited to learn as much as I can from this course, I find the election unit interesting and realized I haven't ever voted in a Municipal election which I will be sure to do in our upcoming election next year.

@Stefanylowe204 Hi Stefany, yes our Municipality has had fibre go through and is available to our residents in the urban and rural areas! I believe this was already in progress before the pandemic hit so its great for businesses as well as residents who have been forced to work from home :)
