I was excited to hear that President Trump is open to the idea of being the next Pope. This would truly be a dark horse candidate, but I would ask the papal conclave and Catholic faithful to keep an open mind about this possibility!
The first Pope-U.S. President combination has many upsides. Watching for white smoke…. Trump MMXXVIII!
We’re under a tornado warning so my beautiful, fragile wife is hiding in the bathtub while I am prepared to be violently hurled into the sky much like a pagan sacrifice.
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal.
If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal.
Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.
@ThankYouTaceGod@PhillyD Reminder that it’s largely the US and Israel’s fault for the squalor and shit, we should bear the responsibility of assisting but we shouldn’t be trying to conquer the middle east
@ThankYouTaceGod@PhillyD it’s the only alternative that we see: there also is the original alternative that the Palestinian people have been suggesting by fighting for it.. but neither the US or Israel will consider ceding their power at the cost of their pride at this point
@ThankYouTaceGod@PhillyD I don’t think we are thinking about this from any other context than American idealism: if the script were flipped how would we feel about being told we must leave our homeland? Who will pay to relocate? If troops are involved(Trump suggests this) then WE are paying for it?
@ThankYouTaceGod@PhillyD I think taking the control away from Israel would be good, but I don’t see how the US could possibly stabilize the region without the input of Israel since we are “allies” technically.
I also look to examples like Iraq and Afghanistan for how well the US stabilizes nations
