Police officer has this evening been charged with rape, kidnap and more after M62 chase

A 23-year-old Greater Manchester Police student officer has been charged with a string of serious offences after an incident over the weekend.

Mohammed Hassan has been remanded in custody and suspended by the force.

He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow accused of oral rape, kidnap, strangulation, sexual assault, theft of a mobile phone and dangerous driving.

The charges follow reports made to GMP on the evening of Saturday 8 August that ended in a police pursuit on the M62 near Snaith in West Yorkshire.
