Owning a biz in a competitive landscape (majority of traditional biz) is not for the faint of heart. If the pressure, anxiety, and sleepless nights don’t drive you towards strategy and solutions, might be better suit for intrapreneurship.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Your team will often mimic your passion & enthusiasm for the biz, through both the good times and the challenging.
If they don’t, they might not be the best fit in the first place.
Regardless of biz, economy, geographic location, 2 critical pieces biz owners must strive to develop and understand:
1. When to go on defense (Minimize, possibly retrace)
2. When to play offense (Relentlessly hunt and attack opportunity in the marketplace)
Know the players in your market, watch how they move, market and engage with clients. Remember, in the future of sales and customer engagement, you have to put on a show!
Believe it or not, when people have a choice, they don’t tolerate boring.
Embrace the show-business!
One can’t be a data junky and expect to be a difference maker in the marketplace. You have to get out and “touch the streets” so to speak.
There is so much movement throughout the market in every sector where the whole story cannot be told solely by the data.
Free resources are abundant! Yrs back companies/individuals alike realized you have to give free content (of value) in order to build a potentially paying audience. Now, I see many who have 0 desire to profit from their advice/experience, whether that be via social, ebook, etc
Never let your top-talent hit their head on the ceiling.
Delegate growth opportunities to the hungry! If they starve for too long at your table, believe they will eventually take part in someone else’s.

If you currently operate a business, make sure you keep your head and eyes up. A business in 2022 and beyond cannot sustain with ownership working heads down.
Massive disruption happens swiftly, and there is nothing convenient or friendly about it.
