Vital traffic data was withheld by @OxfordshireCC ahead of its controversial decision on bus filters. We’ve written to OCC Chief Executive calling for an urgent investigation, a fresh consultation & key decision to be made by full council. Public trust in OCC must be restored 👇
I’m pleased to have been elected this afternoon as the new Chairman of the Place Overview & Scrutiny committee at the County Council. Scrutinising the work of the council and the coalition isn’t just important as a member of the opposition party but also for the residents of #Oxfordshire. Safe to say there is plenty of work for us to do…
Today is an important day for the economy, with inflation now back within normal range.
The last few years have been difficult, but the IMF say the economy is approaching a soft landing - and our long term prospects are better than any other major European economy.
Crack team of @NorthOxonCons out and about today delivering more of @VictoriaPrentis's residents' surveys. Loads of doors knocked, with plenty of positive conversations.

#Budget2024
A long day at County Hall in #Oxfordshire but the budget passed with Lib Dem’s & Green’s back working with Labour to get it over the line. More anti-motorist pet projects and council tax going up again by another 4.99%. I will keep speaking out against this chaotic coalition…
🔶🥀🌿 There we have it. The LibDem/Labour/Green anti-motorist coalition are back together in #Oxfordshire! After hearing the Lib Dem’s criticise the Labour amendment they buckled & accepted the Labour budget to keep hold of power. Residents are paying for this chaotic coalition!
@_LiamWalker_ (Con, Hanborough): “The LibDems have buckled to Labour. It’s a desperate bid to keep control of the county council. The election’s looming next year and you want to keep hold of power. The anti-motorist coalition is back and residents are picking up the tab.”
Con leader @eddiefreeves: “Their plan B was always to swallow whole the Labour amendment. They voted for a £56m tax bombshell. We will vote against this with our heads held high.”
Cllr @Ian_Corkin (Con, Ploughley): “I remain ready to work with @KateGregory1 on the [SEN] resource base issue. But from a political point of view the two tribes are wedded to each other now.”
Cllr Kieron Mallon (Con, Bloxham): “If I were a betting man I would have had a fiver on the [amended budget] document we have before us. It is a left-wing alliance. Tax and borrow. Spend, spend, spend. I am just flabbergasted.”
Cllr @ArashFatemian (Con, Deddington): “There has been a wilful disregard for the speakers today and for the points raised by our side. What I was not expecting from the Liberal group was total capitulation to the Labour amendment. But you can only fake something for so long.”
