We are awfully lucky to have leaders like @PPSATSC@PPSouthAtlantic@WRENetwork leading the fight for reproductive freedom in SC.
Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is our right. And it's legal in South Carolina.
In the surest sign yet that abortion will be a focus of the final week of SC's legislative session, a House Judiciary subcommittee and full Judiciary Committee will meet Tuesday to take up the Senate's six-week ban, which House Republicans have refused to do to this point.
Today, the Senate passed H. 3908 in a unanimous vote! This piece of legislation would provide school employees in South Carolina with the same six-week paid parental leave policy that was established for state employees in 2022!
BREAKING: The #NCGA just passed an omnibus, monster abortion ban within 48 hours. SB 20 will ban abortion after 12 weeks of pregnancy in most cases and impose more restrictions that will severely limit abortion access before 12 weeks for anyone in need of care.
Measures that would have severely restricted abortion failed in Nebraska and South Carolina, which both have GOP-controlled legislatures, a reflection of the growing unease among Republicans over the political popularity of strict bans. https://t.co/4ZFhH9wCXY
On #EarthDay and every day, we're proud to fund environmental justice organizations in North and South Carolina.
We will continue to support indigenous sovereignty, local farmers, and advocates as they fight for safe and healthy communities.
This evening, Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid al-Fitr--“the feast of breaking the fast." This marks the end of Ramadan and a month of fasting. Many are unaware that the first Muslims in America were enslaved Africans, including the ancestors of some Gullah Geechee.

Yesterday, a federal judge in TX blocked the FDA's original approval of mifepristone from more than 20 years ago. BUT the decision does NOT take effect for 7 days. Right now, mifepristone is still FDA-approved.
