We'd like to say thank you to @GroveJnr for coming to visit us last week for a #StoneAge day! The children are now prepared for a primitive hunting trip, with knowledge of #flint tools, den making and gathering food!
Y6 Acer have been learning the first 11 bars of Pachelbel's Canon in D. The children have learnt the parts in the treble and bass clef and then put it together to perform as a pair and then as a class - amazing achievement in just two lessons with Katie Metcalfe.

Year 4 had a fantastic geography field trip to Batford Springs and the River Lea this morning! They partipated in a variety of activities including temperature and depth of water,width of the river, looking at wildlife and plants as well as any architecture alongside!
In DT in Year 3, we've had salad coming out of our ears! We've taste-tested, designed and honed our safe chopping skills. This all culminated in very successful salads which looked and tasted fantastic. Well done Year 3!
Wow! What an amazing group of children! The Groverneers have raised ยฃ4,296 for @MakeAWishUK . They worked collectively to run sponsored events and have helped make a positive difference for children in the UK and their families. We are super proud of you all! Well done!
Year 3 had a wonderful Geography field trip to the local Coop in Southdown this week. They researched the fruits and vegetables to see how far they had travelled. Thank you Steve and Quinton from the Coop for letting us have a tour, especially of the big fridge at the back!
The Groverneers visited Willow Court today as part of an inter-generational project to learn about others in our community. The children spent time getting to know the residents, learning about their lives and playing some games with them. Thank you Willow Court for having us!
Year 6 had a fantastic morning with the Legal Eagles today - a group of local magistrates - where we explored the UK court system and acted out a mock court case. We were proud of the children's fantastic respect and thoughtful questions.
A big thank you to The Grove's PTA for funding new additions to our Year 3-6 class libraries! Each class will receive a set of inspiring, informative and educational fiction and non-fiction books based on a range of diversity and PSHE topics.
Lots of great Maths done across the WHOLE school related to the book How Big is a Million? Human Place Value Grids, Who wants to be a Millionaire? and other games were just a few of the activities! @GroveInfant came over to share their wonderful work with us as well! #Mathsisfun

Fantastic effort from all the children at District Sports this evening and to everyone who has competed this year.
The boys retained their district trophy to add to a hugely successful year!
Well done to Tilly in Year 5 who placed 3rd in the Year 5 freestyle race on Friday at the Inter-District Swimming Championships!
She also swam in the freestyle relay where her team placed 1st.
Overall the Year 5 girls won their category and the St Albans district won the event.
