Grove 4 went into their last match of the season hoping to secure promotion. They comprehensively beat Southwell 3 20-5 to do their job on the night. As news trickled through of other results, it was finally confirmed that they'd been crowned Division 6 Champions by two points.
Grove 1 secured the maximum 20 points against Clifton Park. Excellent wins for Dan, Eddie, Richard, Graham and Steve mean that the team have guaranteed they will be playing in Division 1 again next season. ππ»ππ»
Grove 4 continued their push for promotion and NTU only turning up with four players got them off to a good start. Paul, John , Jamie and Simon made sure the full 20 points were collected. The team go into the final round of fixtures with promotion chances in their own hands!
Grove 2 hosted runaway league leaders Sutton 2 on Monday. It proved a tough evening with Adam narrowly missing out 3-2 and Harry collecting the only other point for the evening. Two matches remain with promotion hopes still alive.
Grove 5 picked up 17 valuable points as they continued their push for promotion. Eli, Mark and Tim only dropped a game between them before Jeb eventually won the match of the night 3-2. Portland 2 up next.
Grove 3 came away 3-2 winners after a close match against Notts Uni 3. Richard, Adam and Ben collected the victories and valuable points as the team look to create a gap between themselves and the relegation zone! @NottsSquash
Grove 5 faced a tough challenge when they hosted Rushcliffe 9 on Tuesday. Eli and Tim both performed brilliantly picking up comfortable wins, but sadly the Rushcliffe team proved stronger and secured a 3-2 victory overall. @NottsSquash#nottssq7
Grove 4 went on their travels to Sutton Bonington 2 and with players missing, Eli got called up from the fifth team. Eli and Dave secured two excellent victories before Jamie narrowly missed out 3-2. A close match up finishing 14-8 to the hosts. @NottsSquash
Grove 5 travelled away to for their tie against Southwell 4 on Monday night. Clean sheets for Tim and Eli with confident 3-0 victories, and good wins for Mark and Susan, gave the team another successful night, and see them top of the division. @NottsSquash
Grove 5 had three juniors in the line up when Loughborough Ladies visited. Jeb and Eli carried on their fine form, winning 3-0 before Max got his customary 3-2 victory. Hamish also claimed maximum points. Susan made sure of maximum points with a 3-1 win @NottsSquash
A 17-8 win for Grove 4 at Southwell 3 made it a full set of wins for the Notts league teams this week! Dave and Paul recorded 3-0 victories while Simon won 3-2. At the half way point of the league, Grove 4 are still hanging on to their 100% record and sit on top of the table.ππ»
Grove 3 had an excellent evening away to Grantham 3. Matt, Ben and Adam picked up the wins on the evening that saw the team remaining 4th in the league.
Grove 5 put in their performance of the season (so far) in a close match up against Whitaker Nomads 3. Mark, Max and Tim all eventually prevailed in 3-2 nail biters. Susan pushed her opponent all the way and kept the plethora of supporters entertained. @NottsSquash
Grove 2 battled to an excellent win over Southwell 1. Clive, Ash and Harry all collected the maximum 3 points with Tom and Andy securing a game each. A final score of 16-9 moved the team up to third in the table. @NottsSquash
Grove 3 entertained a depleted Sutton Bonington 1 on Thursday. Everyone picked up points on the evening with Matt and Adam both narrowly missing out on wins. A close evening saw a final game score of 9-12. @NottsSquash
Grove 3 had a tough evening against an unbeaten Whitaker Nomads 1 but finished the evening with a good points haul. Ben narrowly missed out 3-2 and Matt picked up another game for the team. Captain Richard put in the performance of the night, claiming a 3-1 win. @NottsSquash
Grove 5 travelled to Portland 2 and all were engrossed in some excellent squash. Apart from Eli, who concentrated on secret pre-match fueling while everyone else cheered on Max to a 3-2 win. Eli then secured an excellent 3-0 win while Hamish collected two further games.
Hamish made a thrilling comeback to team squash, narrowly missing out on the win, and Max picked up a valuable point against a very tricky opponent, but Tim and Mark both gave convincing performances, winning 3-0. Final result: 3-2 to Ghostboasters 3. @NottsSquash#nottssq7
