Patrick Sandoval Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+104) 1U Novig
San Francisco has six hitters at 22% K or higher against lefties in the lineup shown.
The top four are the biggest reason to like this: Bericoto 33%, Devers 29%, Adames 30%, and Eldridge 28%. Sandoval gets four consecutive legitimate strikeout targets right out of the gate.
More K upside at the bottom: Gilbert carries a 32% K rate, while Koss and Knizner are both at 22%. So the strikeout opportunities aren’t limited to one section of the order.
Sandoval has enough swing-and-miss ability: His 25.5% whiff rate is solid, and he’s striking out 21.9% of hitters overall. The matchup can help elevate him above his normal K rate.

Gerrit Cole over 6.5 Strikeouts (+100) 1U Novig
Cole still owns a strong strikeout profile: He has a 26.1% K rate, ranking in the 83rd percentile. A pitcher striking out more than a quarter of the hitters he faces has a realistic path to 7+.
Baltimore has almost no true contact bats in this lineup. Eight of the nine hitters shown have a K rate of 20% or higher.
The bottom/middle of the order is especially attractive: Mayo is at 34% K, Beavers 28%, and Cowser 28%. Those are three major K targets Cole can attack.
Even Baltimore’s better hitters provide opportunities: Alonso, Henderson and Basallo are each sitting at 23% K, while Holliday is at 22%. Cole doesn’t have to rely solely on the bottom of the lineup to generate Ks.
His control helps him work deep: Cole’s 5.4% walk rate is 91st percentile. Fewer free passes should keep his pitch count under control and give him a better chance of seeing Baltimore’s lineup three times.

Gage Jump over 4.5 Strikeouts (-115) 1.15U Novig
Jump has legitimate strikeout stuff. He owns a 25.1% K rate, which ranks in the 79th percentile. That’s comfortably strong enough to attack a line of only 4.5.
The swing-and-miss numbers back it up: His 25.3% whiff rate is another positive. He doesn’t need an extreme matchup to get to five when he’s already striking out roughly a quarter of hitters.
The bottom of KC’s lineup is where this can cash. Pasquantino is at 25% K, Collins 22%, Massey 26%, and Maile is all the way up at 41%.
Maile is a particularly strong K target. If Jump faces him twice, that could realistically account for 1–2 strikeouts by itself.
There are enough opportunities throughout the order: Perez is at 18%, and even with Witt (12%), Garcia (14%) and Tolbert (15%) being tougher strikeouts, Jump doesn’t need to dominate the entire lineup.
