The Wiltshire Downs are currently plastered with juvenile Corn Buntings. On two farms last night we saw a minimum of 600. They sit on top of the crops and then wheel around in big flocks, it really is impressive to see. Their juvenile plumage is gorgeous but doesn't last long.

Just found STEPPE WHIMBREL at Lake Sorkol, Zhanaqala, west Kazakhstan!!!! One of two with a flock of orientalis Eurasian Curlews. Declared extinct in 1994, but now with an estimated world population of fewer than 100 on earth! @zootherabirding @BirdGuides
