@PMourdoukoutas For our next economic exercise, Professor, let's calculate how much it would COST taxpayers in tax breaks for Amazon to encourage them to build a store in the average small town.
@PMourdoukoutas@gwenckatz Are you telling us you don't read $500 worth of books a year? That would explain a lot. Anyway, most people don't pay anywhere near that in library taxes and get plenty of value for what they do pay. And libraries offer a lot more than books.
@PMourdoukoutas ...and one other thing. During the Great Recession, when a lot of library systems closed down...do you have any idea how much that hurt the economy? I can't imagine that you've really thought this through...
@PMourdoukoutas Hey, I could save a ton of money by closing most public services in Medford OR. My property value would decrease enormously! Think of the taxes I'd save!
@LampersMichael Oh my goodness. You were very lucky to find that! But Blackstone Audio is issuing new recordings. I helped cast them and they're very good, IMO!
@PMourdoukoutas@Forbes Maybe LIU should replace YOU with an Amazon book store clerk. It would save them a ton of money and their students would get a much broader view of economics. ;-)
@FixGovernment@CBSThisMorning You seem to want to paint these kids as hypocrites. Well, they're doing something. Maybe you can share what *you've* been doing about gun violence in Chicago.
@FixGovernment@CBSThisMorning Why are you ignoring the fact that school kids everywhere now feel empowered to take the lead in protesting gun violence? And why do you think no one has been dealing with community gun violence in Chicago? They have been, for years.
