Slugs & snails can surge after showery weather, especially around tender veg plants & new growth.
An evening patrol can help: check beds, pots & path edges, move them well away from crops to wilder areas where natural predators such as thrushes can help keep numbers in balance.
A quick post to the local gardening community, a trailer full of unwanted bits, and everything was gone within the hour!
It's good to see things given a second life rather than going to waste.

They thrive in hot, dry conditions, so a little moisture helps. Donโt leave things damp late in the day, or you may invite slugs instead.

Keep harvesting rhubarb by gently pulling the stalks away from the main crown rather than cutting them.
The large leaves can go straight onto the compost heap โ theyโre poisonous to eat, but harmless in compost.

๐๐๐ญ๐๐ก ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ! Slug numbers will be booming in the mild weather. Keep numbers in balance by going โsluggingโ at night with a torch, or place a module tray on the ground. In the morning, slugs should have gathered underneath the tray, and will be easy to relocate elsewhere.
