Updated "Total Earned" to display the USD value of tokens based on their price at the time they were sent, rather than using the current $OIL price multiplied by the total supply sent.

This provides a more accurate historical earning value.

When you start drilling, you will see a hashrate that your device is generating. That basically shows how many hashes per second your CPU solves. And if you find the block (your CPU finding the correct hash), you get the reward.

There is a difficulty set by the master server so that one miner finds a block every ~15 minutes.

Only holders holding 200k $OIL tokens are allowed to drill. That's the only criteria to start mining.

You might find a block using very little hashrate (like 50 KH/s) if you're lucky. But basically more hashrate = more chances of finding the correct hash.

Hey guys, just came back, I took a break to cool down a bit because when you code for 17+hours straight your brain slowly starts not functioning anymore.

I'm about 70-80% done with the update that I've been coding. The reason it is taking this long is that I have been also refactoring and rewriting majority of the code to make it more secure and faster.

I've been also trying to find bugs but so far the system is looking solid.

Also quick info about the uptime of the website: the servers are programmed to run 24/7 and restart if it crashes (never happened so far!), so even when I take breaks, the site & drilling will continue running smoothly.

Recently, a portion of our supply was staked in a third-party protocol intended to help support the project without selling. Unfortunately, due to unexpected issues with their system, ~2.5% of our supply was compromised and ~1.8% later sold into the market.

The remaining tokens have been safely recovered and are now locked. They will no longer be staked with the protocol in question or placed at similar risk.

This was done with good intentions to strengthen the project, but we recognize that trusting such a new platform created unnecessary risk. We take responsibility for that, and as a result, we are updating our internal security practices so this cannot happen again.
