At 4.22pm today, Dungeness RNLI volunteer crew were paged to assist a 6m rib with 6 people on board who needed assistance 200m from shore in Rye Bay.

UK Coastguard requested Dungeness lifeboat to assist Pett Level Independent Rescue Boat with the casualty vessel. 🧵

This morning some of our volunteers went to visit the local coastguard helicopter team at Lydd to see what they do and have a chat about working together on rescues in the English Channel.

Dover lifeboat launched the Y-boat & helped them over rocks to safety where they were escorted back to the Hoe.

Site visit this morning to check out our new loading shovel delivered just before Christmas by the team @molson_group . Change of manufacture for us so it was good to hear the operator was very happy with his new machine. #molsonhyundai
