When I found $alph it took me a bit of reading to wrap my head around the different design solutions that the team made.
The sharding algorithm is what caught my eye first as it solves transaction dependencies in an elegant way.
The Rhone network upgrade has successfully been activated on @alephium!
After months of hard work, testing, and refinements, it’s now live on mainnet.
Huge thanks to our dedicated team and amazing community.
The future is bright for secure and scalable dApps on $ALPH with PoW. 🌟
Stay tuned for more information on building with Rhone in the coming days!
More than 80 applications in the first hackathon, without throwing 296 Million Dollars out of the window (just to have 38273620 devs to build something) is fuc*ing awesome.
@IgMosqueira@SuiNetwork@alephium Verifying proofs instead of proving is a pillar of our society/computing, we use it from transmitting knowledge to the next generation, to scaling blockchains (L2s).
I didn't give you a line of thinking to stop you from coming up with another one, on the opposite.
Cheers!
@IgMosqueira@SuiNetwork@alephium Fun part is it's agnostic to the hash algo, so we could be witnessing an industry standard in the making. We'll have to see in prod, but I expect it to be used as the slayer of all the dense Grethas crying about NFTs evaporating our oceans.

@IgMosqueira@SuiNetwork@alephium Here's my thoughts. PoLW is hybrid PoW/PoS. Where the PoS only starts after the activation and the unstaking queue is the time necessary to unlock mined ALPH, eliminating all the cons of both (Open, rpi node, capped energy use), and giving the first native lending yield

Still remember my early days with Haskell, a purely functional programming language that promotes immutability and zero side effects. Haskell is highly esteemed in academic circles, though it presents a significant learning challenge for many developers.
In contrast, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages like Java are often more user-friendly, as their structure closely mirrors real-world concepts. However, this approach is more susceptible to errors due to mutable states and potential side-effects.
While Haskell hasn't achieved widespread popularity, its principles of immutability and side-effect-free programming have profoundly influenced existing languages, including Java. These principles have also spurred the creation of new languages such as Scala and Rust, allowing developers to leverage the advantages of both paradigms.
In the realm of cryptocurrency, if UTXO represents the functional programming approach and EVM-style programming embodies the OOP methodology, then #Alephium's sUTXO model can be seen as the next evolution in crypto programming.

@wachmc@IgMosqueira@SuiNetwork@alephium Great insights as always Cheng. FV tooling feels like a nice to have but it solves the problem backwards instead of making canonical DeFi primitives with clear invariants and minimal ext deps. It's going to be fun to see in r̶e̶d̶a̶c̶t̶e̶d̶ in prod 🤭🤭
@ReshadKool@UpholdInc No, but manipulating microcaps with great fundamentals is all fun and games until your disproportionate ego meets thicc bids, then you realize you can have just chilled, found a family of like minded people and made generational wealth.
Such a waste of talent, praying for him.
Ok I'll bite, wtf is @UpholdInc, and why is the $ALPH community falling for this engagement farmer's baits? I should have blocked earlier.
$ALPH has been trading millions in daily volume, act like it.
Few understand @Alephium .
@IgMosqueira does.
Thanks for the shoutout, very nice thread!
Looking forward to your further research and ideas to improve the protocol.
This protocol and @wachmc have been thinking about this for sometime. They are a PoW (for now, more later), they are already sharded with max theoretical tps of 10000 tps, they have developed their own vm and programming language structured to prioritize security,
@Weaklin50424369@quickintel_ai@SuiNetwork $ALPH was made precisely to make these kind of projects redundant. Their hole value prop exists because of the flawed L1/VM they are trying to fix.
